During the series, Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav had a forgettable performance, being dismissed for three consecutive ducks, a record for an Indian player in ODI history.

As the 50-over World Cup looms later this year, discussions have already begun across the country regarding the inclusion of Sanju Samson in the Indian ODI squad instead of Suryakumar.

Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor, from the Indian National Congress, voiced his opinion on the matter through a tweet, questioning what Samson needed to do to earn a spot in the team.
